What Are the Criminal Consequences for a 2nd DUI in Colorado?
Upon conviction for a second lifetime alcohol or drug-related driving offense, in any state, an individual is subject to the following possible sentence requirements:
- Between 10 days to one year in jail, at the judge’s discretion — if the prior offense is within five years of the second, the person shall not be eligible for in home detention during the initial 10 days of the confinement sentence
- A fine between $600-$1500, at the judge’s discretion
- Between 48 and 120 hours of community service
- A Mothers Against Drunk Driving “Victim Impact Panel”
- At least two years of probation
- Monitored sobriety
- Substance abuse education and therapy
